Description

Disodium methylenebisnaphthalenesulfonate (CAS 26545-58-4), commercially known as sodium methylenebis(naphthalenesulfonate), is an anionic dispersant used across industrial formulations to stabilize suspensions.

It functions primarily as a dispersing and wetting agent where uniform distribution of solids is critical to end-product performance. In textile dyeing and finishing, it disperses dye particles evenly across fiber substrates.

This prevents agglomeration that causes uneven coloration. Concrete admixture manufacturers use it as a plasticizer component to improve workability and reduce water demand in cement slurries without compromising set strength.

Agricultural formulators incorporate it into suspension concentrates and wettable powder pesticide formulations. This ensures stable dispersion of active ingredients during dilution and application in the field.

In pulp and paper processing, it improves the distribution of sizing agents and pigments across fiber matrices. This supports consistent sheet formation and high coating quality during the manufacturing process.

The product is supplied as a brown to dark-brown powder or as an aqueous solution. Active content typically ranges from 85–95% for powder grades, meeting the requirements for Technical grade specifications.

Buyers should confirm active content, sodium sulfate levels, and compatibility with specific formulation pH ranges. Evaluating these parameters ensures the material meets the necessary standards for industrial applications.
