Description

Dibromoneopentyl glycol (CAS 3296-90-0), commonly abbreviated as DBNPG and also known by the trade reference Pentaerythritol dibromide, is a reactive brominated diol used as a flame retardant intermediate.

Unlike additive flame retardants, it chemically incorporates into the polymer backbone, delivering durable fire resistance without migration or blooming across various polymer and coating systems.

In polyurethane foams and rigid panels for construction, DBNPG is reacted into the polyol component to meet building fire safety standards without compromising structural integrity.

Unsaturated polyester resins used in composite panels and laminates incorporate it to achieve UL or EN flame classification requirements for industrial and commercial applications.

Textile and leather finishing formulations use DBNPG as a reactive component in back-coating systems where wash-durable flame retardancy is required for high-performance materials.

In adhesives, sealants, and epoxy systems, it functions as a co-monomer that imparts flame retardant performance directly into the cured network for long-term stability.

Dibromoneopentyl glycol is supplied as a white crystalline powder. Technical and industrial grades are the standard market offering, with purity levels typically at 98% or higher.

Quality is confirmed by GC or titration to ensure consistency. Packaging is available in 25 kg bags, with bulk options for high-volume polymer and resin producers.
