Montan acid wax

Montan acid wax (CAS 68476-03-9), also supplied under the designation TMN 102, is a refined fraction derived from lignite-based montan wax consisting predominantly of long-chain fatty acids.

Where is Montan acid wax used?

• Plastics processing: internal and external lubricant
• PVC and polyolefin compounding: reduces die build-up and improves mold release without compromising surface finish
• Coatings: rheology control, slip resistance, matting or polishing effect
• Adhesives and sealants: modifies tack and flow behaviour in hot-melt and solvent-based systems
• Metalworking: base component in drawing compounds and release agents
• It functions as a processing lubricant, surface modifier and rheology modifier.
