Water

Water (CAS 7732-18-5), also known as purified water or distilled water, is the foundational solvent and carrier medium in manufacturing and processing.

Where is Water used?

• Pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturing: process solvent, excipient diluent, and equipment rinse medium meeting compendial standards
• Food and beverage production: direct ingredient, process water, and carrier for flavors, colorants, and functional additives
• Industrial and household cleaning: primary carrier delivering surfactants, builders, and disinfectants at working concentrations
• Water treatment: diluting treatment chemicals, preparing dosing solutions, and calibrating analytical systems
• It dissolves, dilutes, suspends, and transports active ingredients in formulations.

Good to know: Purified and distilled grades are produced to USP, Ph. Eur., and BP monographs; conductivity and total organic carbon limits define pharmaceutical suitability.
