Lavender oil

Lavender oil (CAS 8000-28-0), also known by its pharmacopoeial designation Lavandulae aetheroleum and FEMA 2621, is a steam-distilled essential oil derived from Lavandula angustifolia and related species.

It functions as a fragrance material, flavoring agent, and active ingredient across personal care, pharmaceutical, and food applications. In cosmetics and personal care, it provides the primary scent character in lotions and shampoos.

It is also used in soaps and bath products, while contributing to skin-conditioning formulations. Food and beverage manufacturers use it as a natural flavoring in confectionery, herbal teas, and baked goods under FEMA status.
