Eucalyptus oil
Description
Eucalyptus oil (CAS 8000-48-4), also identified under FEMA 2466, is a steam-distilled essential oil derived primarily from Eucalyptus globulus leaves. It functions as a flavoring agent, antimicrobial preservative, and fragrance ingredient.
This versatile oil serves as an active component across pharmaceutical, personal care, cleaning, and food applications. In pharmaceutical and OTC products, it is formulated into cough syrups, lozenges, and topical rubs.
The active constituent, 1,8-cineole, drives the therapeutic positioning of the finished product in inhalants. Personal care manufacturers incorporate it into oral care products, shampoos, and skin preparations for its profile.
It provides a significant fragrance profile and preservative contribution to cosmetic formulations. Household and industrial cleaning formulations use it as a solvent and biocidal agent for various surfaces.
It is particularly effective in surface sprays, disinfectants, and degreasing products targeting natural residue removal. As a flavoring, it is used at controlled levels in confectionery, chewing gum, and beverages.
The oil delivers a characteristic cooling, minty-camphoraceous note to food products. Eucalyptus oil is supplied as a mobile, colorless to pale yellow liquid for industrial and commercial manufacturing needs.
Standard commercial grades include pharmaceutical-grade (BP/Ph.Eur. compliant) with defined 1,8-cineole content. We also supply food-grade material meeting FCC specifications for global trade.
The material is typically packaged in drums or IBCs for bulk distribution. Our supply chain ensures that all batches meet the rigorous USP, EP, and ACS standards required by our clients.
