Camphor oil

Camphor oil (CAS 8008-51-3), also known as camphor oil white and Formosa camphor oil, is a steam-distilled essential oil derived from the wood of Cinnamomum camphora.

Where is Camphor oil used?

• Topical and cosmetic formulations: fragrance ingredient and functional carrier
• Food and pharmaceutical applications: flavoring agent (FEMA 2231)
• Personal care: cooling balms, massage oils, scalp treatments
• Pharmaceutical: functional excipient and fragrance component in analgesic rubs, liniments, medicated ointments
• Perfumery: natural camphoraceous note and solvent carrier for aromatic compounds
• In mouthwashes and toothpastes it contributes flavoring character and formulation compatibility.
