Description

Benzothiazole (CAS 95-16-9), also known by the trade name Vangard BT, is a bicyclic heterocyclic compound used across rubber processing, flavor formulation, and industrial preservation.

It functions primarily as a chemical intermediate and precursor in the synthesis of accelerators, dyes, and biocidal agents. In rubber and tire manufacturing, it serves as a key building block.

This compound is essential for benzothiazole-based vulcanization accelerators, directly influencing cure rates and compound performance. Flavor and fragrance formulators use it under FEMA 3256.

It contributes nutty, slightly roasted notes to food and beverage applications. In textile and paper processing, benzothiazole derivatives are incorporated into dye intermediates and optical brighteners.

The heterocyclic core drives chromophore activity in these applications. Industrial preservation systems, including metalworking fluids and coating formulations, rely on benzothiazole-derived biocides.

These biocides control microbial growth and extend product shelf life. Benzothiazole is supplied as a liquid or low-melting solid, depending on temperature conditions during handling and storage.

Technical grade is the standard offering for industrial and rubber applications, while higher-purity grades are available to meet flavor and fragrance industry requirements.

It is typically packaged in drums or IBCs for bulk procurement. Our material meets rigorous industry specifications to ensure consistent performance across all manufacturing sectors.
