Hydrated silica

Hydrated silica (CAS 10279-57-9), also known as silicon dioxide hydrate, is an amorphous, water-containing form of silica produced through controlled precipitation processes.

Where is Hydrated silica used?

• Oral care: primary abrasive agent
• Rubber and tire: reinforcing filler to improve tread wear
• High-performance compounds: improves rolling resistance
• Food processing: anti-caking agent and flow aid in powdered ingredients, keeping bulk materials free-flowing
• Printing ink and coatings: controls viscosity, matting, and surface texture in solvent-based and water-based systems
• It functions as a functional filler, rheology modifier, and surface-active agent.

Good to know: Particle size and hardness are tightly controlled to meet RDA specifications in toothpaste formulations. Food-grade material is available to FCC and E551 standards.
