What is Vitreous silica?

Vitreous silica (CAS 60676-86-0), also sold as silicon dioxide or silica, is an amorphous, non-crystalline form of SiO₂ produced through high-temperature fusion.

Where is Vitreous silica used?

Coatings, adhesives and sealants: viscosity control and anti-sagging
Solvent-borne and waterborne systems: thixotropy improvement
Rubber: reinforcing filler and processing aid for dimensional stability in molded profiles
Food and personal care: anti-caking agent and carrier in powdered products such as seasoning blends and pressed cosmetic powders
Agriculture: flow conditioner in granular pesticide and fertilizer formulations, reducing clumping during storage and handling
It functions as a rheology modifier and stabilizer.
