Description

Nickel nitrate (CAS 13138-45-9), also sold as nickelous nitrate, is an inorganic nickel salt primarily used as a precursor in catalyst manufacturing and surface treatment processes.

It delivers controlled nickel deposition across a range of industrial substrates, making it a reliable starting material where precise nickel loading is required for high-performance applications.

In catalyst production, it serves as a key precursor for supported nickel catalysts used in hydrogenation and reforming processes, where uniform metal dispersion on carriers is critical.

Electroplating and surface finishing operations use it to produce nickel coatings on metals and plastics, providing corrosion resistance and improved adhesion for subsequent layers.

In textile and leather processing, it functions as a mordant, fixing dyes to fibers and hides to improve colorfastness. Mining operations also draw on it for nickel recovery.

Nickel nitrate is commercially available as a hexahydrate in crystalline or granular form, with the hexahydrate being the dominant traded specification for industrial buyers.

Technical and reagent grades are standard across the market, with purity levels typically ranging from 97% to 99%+. Bulk supply is available in fiber drums or bags for logistics.

Smaller packagings are offered for laboratory and specialty formulation use. This ensures that both large-scale manufacturers and research facilities can access the material easily.
