Description

Potassium orthovanadate (CAS 14293-78-8), also referenced commercially as tripotassium vanadate, is an inorganic vanadium salt used primarily as a catalyst and catalyst precursor in industrial chemical processes.

It delivers a soluble, high-purity source of vanadium in applications where controlled reactivity and precise vanadium loading are required. In catalyst manufacturing, it serves as a precursor for vanadium-based oxidation catalysts.

These catalysts are used in sulfuric acid production and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems. The mining and metals sector uses it in hydrometallurgical processing, where vanadium compounds support leaching and recovery operations.

This is particularly important for vanadium pentoxide production. Research and specialty chemical producers use it to prepare supported vanadium catalysts on oxide carriers for oxidative dehydrogenation and other gas-phase reactions.

It also appears in electrochemical research contexts, particularly in studies related to vanadium redox flow battery electrolyte development. Potassium orthovanadate is supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder.

It is available in technical and high-purity reagent grades, with purity specifications typically ranging from 98% to 99.9%+ depending on the intended application. Packaging is offered in laboratory-scale quantities.

Bulk industrial lots are also available for catalyst producers and chemical manufacturers. This ensures a reliable supply chain for large-scale industrial operations requiring consistent chemical performance and high purity standards.
