Description

Vanadium trioxide (CAS 1314-34-7), also known as vanadium(III) oxide or V2O3, is an inorganic vanadium compound used primarily as a catalyst precursor and functional material in high-temperature industrial processes.

It serves as a key intermediate in vanadium chemical production and in the manufacture of specialty electronic components. In the metallurgical industry, it is used as a feedstock for producing ferrovanadium and other vanadium alloys.

These alloys are essential for strengthening steel in construction and automotive applications. The compound functions as a catalyst precursor in chemical synthesis, where controlled reduction to active vanadium species drives selective oxidation reactions.

In electronics, V2O3 thin films and powders are used in thermistor and switching device manufacturing. This application exploits its metal-insulator transition behavior for temperature-sensitive components and advanced circuitry.

It also serves as a starting material in the preparation of higher vanadium oxides, including vanadium pentoxide, used in sulfuric acid production catalysts. This versatility makes it a staple in industrial chemical manufacturing.

Vanadium trioxide is supplied as a fine black or dark gray powder in technical and high-purity grades. Standard purity levels range from 98% to 99.9%+, with high-purity grades available for electronics and research.

Packaging is typically offered in multi-kilogram quantities up to bulk industrial supply, depending on grade and application requirements. Our logistics team ensures secure handling and delivery for all industrial chemical orders.
