Hexene

Trans-2-Hexene (CAS 4050-45-7), also known commercially as Orgal F 4050, is a linear alpha-olefin isomer used as a reactive monomer and process solvent in petrochemical and polymer manufacturing.

Where is Hexene used?

• Polyolefin production: comonomer that modifies density and mechanical properties of polyethylene grades for film, pipe and packaging
• Refinery and gas processing: reference compound and process intermediate in alkylation and isomerization units
• Industrial and institutional cleaning: component of solvent blends for hydrocarbon-based soils and residues
• Specialty chemical synthesis: C6 olefin intermediate for plasticizers, lubricant additives and surfactant precursors
• It serves as a building block in synthesis chains where controlled chain length and double-bond positioning are critical.
