What is Arbutin?
Arbutin (CAS 497-76-7), also known as alpha-arbutin in its synthetic isomeric form, is a naturally derived glycoside used as a skin-brightening and hyperpigmentation-correcting active in cosmetic formulations.

- Skincare: serums, creams, and spot treatments targeting uneven skin tone and age spots
- Asian personal care: primary brightening active in toners and essences, often at 1–5%
