Ethoxylated tall oil fatty acids
Description
Ethoxylated tall oil fatty acids (CAS 61791-00-2), also sold under the trade name Ninox AOO, are nonionic surfactants derived from tall oil through ethoxylation. They deliver emulsification, wetting, and degreasing performance across a broad range of industrial formulations.
The HLB value varies with the degree of ethoxylation, allowing formulators to select grades matched to specific application requirements. In textile and leather processing, they function as fiber lubricants and softening agents.
These surfactants serve as scouring components that improve substrate wettability and dye uptake uniformity. Industrial and institutional cleaners rely on them as emulsifiers and degreasing actives in hard surface and metal cleaning formulations.
In agrochemical products, they act as emulsifiers and spreading agents in herbicide, fungicide, and insecticide concentrates. This improves active ingredient distribution on plant surfaces for better efficacy.
Coatings and adhesive formulations use them to stabilize pigment dispersions and improve substrate wetting on difficult surfaces. They are supplied as amber to yellow viscous liquids in various concentrations.
Grades are differentiated primarily by ethylene oxide chain length, with low-EO variants favoring oil-soluble applications. Higher-EO grades offer water dispersibility for aqueous systems.
Supply is available in technical grade, with drum and IBC packaging standard for industrial volumes. These products meet rigorous industrial specifications for consistency and performance in large-scale manufacturing.
