Apricot kernel oil

Apricot kernel oil (CAS 72869-69-3), also referenced under FEMA 2105, is a light carrier oil cold-pressed from the seeds of Prunus armeniaca.

Where is Apricot kernel oil used?

• Personal care: lightweight emollient base in facial creams, serums, massage oils and lip products
• Hair care: conditioning agent in leave-in treatments and scalp oils
• Food: flavoring ingredient and specialty culinary oil in confectionery and gourmet applications
• Pharmaceutical and nutraceutical: carrier oil in softgel capsules, topical preparations and oral delivery systems
• It also serves as a skin-conditioning agent and flavoring carrier.

Good to know: Cosmetic grades often meet ISO 16128 natural origin criteria. Cold-pressed and refined variants are both available, with cold-pressed grades commanding preference in natural and organic product lines.
