Candlenut oil

Candlenut oil (CAS 8015-80-3), also known commercially as kukui nut oil, is a lightweight plant-derived oil pressed from the seeds of Aleurites moluccana.

Where is Candlenut oil used?

• Cosmetics and skincare: fast-absorbing, non-greasy moisturization in facial serums, body lotions and hair conditioners
• After-sun products, massage oils and barrier creams for dry or compromised skin, supported by high unsaturated fatty acid content
• Coatings and wood finishing: drying oil component for surface treatments
• Varnishes and specialized industrial coatings: flexibility and penetration
• Specialty lubricants: bio-based, skin-compatible carrier
• Historically significant in Hawaiian and Pacific Island traditions, it is now sourced for its rapid skin absorption.
