Decanoyl- and octanoyl glycerides
Description
Decanoyl- and octanoyl glycerides (CAS 73398-61-5), commercially recognized as caprylic/capric triglyceride, are fractionated coconut oil-derived esters used as carrier oils and emollients.
Produced from medium-chain fatty acids, they deliver a lightweight, skin-compatible base that supports active ingredient delivery without the heaviness of conventional vegetable oils.
In cosmetic formulations, these glycerides function as an emollient and carrier for lipophilic actives in serums, sunscreens, and moisturizers, improving spreadability and skin feel.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers use it as a solvent and excipient for lipid-based drug delivery systems, including soft gel capsules and various topical preparations.
In food applications, it acts as a carrier for fat-soluble vitamins, flavors, and nutraceutical ingredients requiring a stable, neutral-tasting lipid base for the final product.
Coating and adhesive formulators incorporate it as a plasticizer and processing aid where a low-viscosity, oxidation-stable oil is required for industrial performance.
Supplied as a clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid in drum and IBC quantities. Standard grades include food-grade, cosmetic-grade, and pharmaceutical-grade material.
Our inventory meets USP and Ph.Eur. specifications. Organic-certified variants are available for natural and clean-label product lines across all manufacturing sectors.
