Description

Decaglyceryl monocaprylate (CAS 51033-41-1), also marketed as MCA 750 and sold under the INCI designation Polyglyceryl-10 caprylate, is a polyglycerol ester of caprylic acid.

It is used as a mild, water-soluble emulsifier and humectant across personal care, food, and cleaning applications. Its high hydrophilicity makes it effective at stabilizing oil-in-water systems.

This ingredient improves skin feel in leave-on and rinse-off formulations. In cosmetic formulations, it functions as a primary or co-emulsifier in lightweight lotions, serums, and micellar products.

It is often preferred where a clean-label, non-ethoxylated surfactant is required. Food manufacturers use it to stabilize emulsions and improve texture in low-fat and functional food products.

Polyglycerol esters are accepted under applicable regulations for food use. In home care and industrial cleaning concentrates, it supports wetting and dispersion of active ingredients.

It is particularly useful in mild or naturally derived formulation platforms. It also acts as a solubilizer for fragrance and lipophilic actives in aqueous systems for various industries.

Decaglyceryl monocaprylate is typically supplied as a clear to pale yellow viscous liquid. Food-grade and cosmetic-grade specifications are the most commonly available for industrial use.

Food-grade material generally conforms to applicable purity standards for polyglycerol esters. Bulk supply is standard in drums or IBCs, with sample quantities available for development.
