What is Formamide?

Formamide (CAS 75-12-7) is a primary amide solvent used in pharmaceutical synthesis, electronics manufacturing and specialty chemical processing.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing: reaction medium and building block for purines, vitamins and other heterocyclic compounds
Electronics: solvent in the production of electrolytic capacitors
Processing aid for certain polymer films
Textile and leather processing: softening and conditioning agent that improves flexibility and workability
