Description

Diethyl toluene diamine (CAS 75389-89-8), commonly known as DETDA, is an aromatic diamine curative used to crosslink epoxy resins and polyurethane systems. It controls cure rate, pot life, and final mechanical performance in demanding polymer applications.

In high-performance epoxy formulations, DETDA acts as a chain extender and crosslinker, producing cured systems with elevated heat resistance and chemical durability suited for industrial coatings and structural composites.

Polyurethane elastomers, particularly cast and RIM systems, rely on DETDA to achieve tight hardness control and improved abrasion resistance in end products such as rollers, wheels, and seals.

Protective coatings for pipelines, marine structures, and industrial flooring use DETDA-cured epoxies where long-term chemical exposure resistance is a primary specification requirement.

In adhesive and sealant formulations, it supports fast-developing green strength while maintaining flexibility across a broad service temperature range for various industrial environments.

DETDA is supplied as an amber to light yellow liquid. It is available in technical and industrial grades, with purity specifications typically at 98% or higher depending on the specific supplier.

Packaging options generally include drums and IBC containers to suit both development-scale and bulk production requirements, ensuring safe handling and transport for all global logistics needs.
