Description

Triphenyltin hydroxide (CAS 76-87-9), commercially known as fentin hydroxide, is an organotin biocide used in agricultural crop protection. It acts as a fungicide and algaecide, controlling fungal pathogens and algae in targeted field applications.

Fentin hydroxide is registered for use against late blight and Cercospora leaf spot in potato and sugar beet crops. It is formulated into wettable powder or suspension concentrate sprays to ensure effective coverage and disease management.

It also controls algae in rice paddy cultivation, applied directly to flooded fields to suppress aquatic weed competition. In specialty crop programs, it has been used as a tank-mix partner with other fungicides to broaden disease control spectrums.

Industrial antifouling formulations have historically incorporated organotin compounds of this class to prevent biofouling on marine surfaces. This application helps maintain the integrity of submerged structures and vessel hulls over time.

Triphenyltin hydroxide is supplied as a technical-grade solid, typically as a white to off-white powder or crystalline material. It is available in formulated end-use products such as wettable powders and suspension concentrates for agricultural use.

Technical-grade material is sourced for formulation manufacturing, with purity specifications varying by supplier and regional registration requirements. Our supply chain ensures consistent quality for industrial and agricultural applications globally.
