Lignosulfonic acid

Lignosulfonic acid (CAS 8062-15-5) is a sulfonated lignin derivative recovered as a byproduct of the sulfite pulping process.

Where is Lignosulfonic acid used?

• Concrete and cement: water-reducing admixture improving workability and compressive strength without added water
• Agriculture: dispersant and stabiliser for pesticide and herbicide suspensions
• Water treatment: supports flocculation of suspended solids and sequesters metal ions
• Textile and leather: dispersant for dyes and tanning agents
• Its polyelectrolyte character enables control over particle suspension and rheology.
