Description

N,N-Dimethylcyclohexylamine (CAS 98-94-2), commonly abbreviated as DMCHA, is a tertiary amine used primarily as a catalyst and neutralizing agent across chemical manufacturing. It drives reaction efficiency in polyurethane systems and acts as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals.

In polyurethane foam production, DMCHA functions as a blowing and gelling catalyst, controlling cell structure and cure rate in rigid and flexible foam formulations. Pharmaceutical manufacturers use it as a synthetic intermediate in active ingredient production.

In these applications, controlled basicity supports specific reaction pathways. In water treatment and corrosion inhibition formulations, it contributes to pH adjustment and acts as a precursor to biocidal compounds.

Pigment and dye manufacturers also employ DMCHA as a neutralizing agent to stabilize colorant dispersions and improve batch consistency. This versatility makes it a staple in specialty chemical manufacturing and industrial processing.

DMCHA is supplied as a liquid in standard bulk packaging, including drums and IBC containers, with tanker quantities available for high-volume procurement. Technical grade is the most common commercial specification for this product.

Purity levels are typically at 99% or above for standard industrial use. Buyers sourcing for pharmaceutical intermediate applications should confirm compliance with relevant synthesis-grade quality standards prior to procurement.

The material is handled according to strict safety protocols due to its chemical properties. Reliable supply chains ensure that the product meets the necessary technical requirements for diverse global manufacturing sectors.
