Description

Disodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate (CAS 10028-24-7), also sold as sodium phosphate dibasic dihydrate, is an inorganic phosphate salt used across food, pharmaceutical, and industrial processing as a pH buffer and sequestrant.

Approved as E339 in food applications, it controls acidity and stabilizes formulations where precise pH management is critical to product quality. In food manufacturing, it functions as an emulsifying salt and buffering agent.

It is commonly used in processed cheese, dairy blends, and cured meat products, preventing protein separation and texture breakdown. Pharmaceutical manufacturers use it to prepare buffered saline solutions and injectable formulations.

It is also utilized in tablet excipient blends where consistent pH is a regulatory requirement. Water treatment operations dose it to inhibit scale formation and corrosion in distribution systems by sequestering calcium and magnesium ions.

In animal feed production, it supplies bioavailable phosphorus while supporting mineral balance in compound feed formulations. Disodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate is supplied as a white crystalline powder or granule.

It is available in food-grade (FCC), pharmaceutical-grade (USP, BP, Ph. Eur.), and technical-grade specifications to meet the regulatory requirements of different end markets.

Packaging options typically range from 25 kg bags to bulk quantities for industrial procurement. This versatile chemical ensures stability and performance across a wide variety of sensitive manufacturing applications.
