Sodium ferrocyanide

Sodium ferrocyanide (CAS 13601-19-9), also known commercially as E535 and tetrasodium hexacyanoferrate, is an inorganic iron-cyanide salt used across food processing and industrial water treatment.

It functions primarily as an anti-caking agent, chelating agent, and corrosion inhibitor depending on the end-use sector. In food and salt processing, it is approved to prevent clumping in table salt.

This additive is used in mineral salts at regulated dosage levels to ensure flowability. Water treatment operations use it to sequester heavy metals and control corrosion in distribution systems and cooling circuits.
