Calcium ferrocyanide
Description
Calcium ferrocyanide (CAS 13821-08-4), also designated E538, is an inorganic ferrocyanide salt used commercially as an anti-caking agent and chelating compound across food-adjacent and industrial applications.
Its ability to sequester metal ions and modify particle behavior makes it a functional input in several process industries. In water treatment, it is applied to precipitate and remove heavy metal contaminants.
This compound is particularly effective at removing lead and other transition metals from industrial effluents and process water streams. Mining and metallurgical operations use it in selective metal recovery and separation processes.
Controlled chelation helps isolate target metal fractions during these complex industrial procedures. In printing and packaging, it functions as a pigment precursor and processing aid in formulations requiring stable iron-based colorants.
As an approved anti-caking additive, it also appears in salt and mineral blends to prevent clumping in bulk mineral products. This application is common for materials intended for food-contact applications and storage.
The product is supplied as a fine crystalline powder or granular solid for easy handling. It is available in food-grade specification conforming to the strict requirements of the European Union food additive regulations.
We also provide technical grade material for industrial water treatment and mining applications. Packaging typically ranges from small bags to bulk quantities depending on the specific application volume and customer needs.
