Description

4,4'-Methylenebis(cyclohexylamine) (CAS 1761-71-3), commercially known as PACM, is a cycloaliphatic diamine used as a curing agent and crosslinker in high-performance polymer systems. It delivers cured networks with strong mechanical properties and good UV stability, making it a preferred choice over aromatic alternatives in applications where color retention matters.

In epoxy coatings, PACM cures systems intended for automotive topcoats, industrial flooring, and marine finishes where yellowing resistance is critical for long-term performance. Adhesive and sealant formulators use it to achieve flexible yet durable bonds in structural assemblies exposed to thermal cycling and harsh environmental conditions.

As a monomer building block, it is reacted with diacids or diisocyanates to produce polyamide and polyurea materials with elevated glass transition temperatures and chemical resistance. In engineering plastics, PACM-based polyamides are processed into transparent or translucent components requiring both toughness and optical clarity for specialized industrial use.

4,4'-Methylenebis(cyclohexylamine) is supplied as a low-viscosity liquid at ambient temperature. It is available in technical and high-purity grades to meet various requirements. Standard packaging includes drums and IBC containers, with bulk supply available for high-volume procurement. This material supports both industrial coating and specialty polymer synthesis.
