Thiencarbazone-methyl (CAS 317815-83-1) is a selective herbicide active ingredient of the triketone and sulfonylaminocarbonyl-triazolinone classes. Also marketed as Velocity and Capreno.

Where is Thiencarbazone-methyl used?

• Cereal crops: control of grass and broadleaf weeds
• Winter and spring wheat, barley and corn production
• Post-emergence control of blackgrass, ryegrass and volunteer cereals
• Corn herbicide formulations: combined with isoxaflutole
• It inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS), disrupting amino acid biosynthesis in target plants.
• Its ALS-inhibitor mode of action is relevant for resistance management programs requiring rotation of herbicide classes.
