Clethodim

Clethodim (CAS 99129-21-2) is a post-emergent herbicide active ingredient used to control grass weeds in broadleaf crops. Also marketed as Select, Volunteer, and Ogive.

Where is Clethodim used?

• Soybean, cotton, sunflower and canola production: eliminates volunteer cereals and invasive grass species after crop emergence
• Specialty crop programs: controls perennial grasses such as quackgrass and johnsongrass where residual soil herbicides are not viable
• Formulation of emulsifiable concentrate and suspension concentrate herbicide products registered for commercial agricultural use
• Technical-grade material is used by contract manufacturers and generic agrochemical producers for reformulation into branded or private-label crop protection products.

Good to know: Targets annual and perennial grasses without affecting the broadleaf crop.
