Cupuacu butter

Cupuacu butter (CAS 394236-97-6), also sold as Cupuassu butter and under the trade name Jarplex CU-WD, is a vegetable fat derived from the seeds of Theobroma grandiflorum. In personal care and food manufacturing, it functions as a moisturizing and emulsifying agent, valued for its ability to absorb and retain water within formulations.

In skin and hair care, it is used in creams, lotions, lip balms, and conditioners where its humectant properties support moisture retention and skin barrier function. Confectionery and specialty food manufacturers use it as a cocoa butter alternative or extender in chocolate coatings and fillings, where its fat profile supports texture.

In adhesives and sealant formulations, it acts as a natural plasticizing component, contributing flexibility and cohesion in bio-based systems for industrial use.
