Ultraviolet Absorber UV 292
Description
Ultraviolet Absorber UV 292 (CAS 41556-26-7), also marketed as Sabostab UV 65, is a hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) designed to protect organic materials from photodegradation caused by UV exposure.
By interrupting the radical chain reactions triggered by light, it extends the service life of polymer-based products across demanding outdoor and industrial applications. This ensures long-term durability.
In coatings formulations, including automotive refinishes and industrial topcoats, UV 292 prevents gloss loss, chalking, and color fade under prolonged UV exposure. It is essential for maintaining aesthetic quality.
Adhesives and sealants used in construction and automotive assembly incorporate it to maintain bond integrity and flexibility after weathering. This prevents structural failure in harsh environments.
Flexible and rigid plastic substrates, including polyolefins and engineering polymers, are stabilized during processing and throughout their end-use lifetime. This protects the physical properties of the material.
Printing inks and packaging films destined for outdoor or high-UV environments use UV 292 to preserve print quality and structural performance. It prevents the degradation of pigments and film strength.
UV 292 is supplied as a liquid, which simplifies incorporation into solvent-borne and liquid resin systems without requiring dissolution steps. This improves manufacturing efficiency for chemical processors.
It is available in technical grade, meeting the performance specifications required for industrial coatings and adhesive applications. Bulk and drum packaging are standard supply formats for procurement.
