Description

Isopropyl lanolate (CAS 63393-93-1), also known commercially as Amerlate W, is the isopropyl ester of lanolin fatty acids. This complex mixture is derived from wool wax and functions as an emollient, lubricant, and emulsifier.

It is widely used across personal care and industrial formulations for its versatile properties. In cosmetics and skin care, it conditions and softens formulations such as lip products, creams, and hair treatments.

The compound improves spreadability and moisture retention on the skin surface, making it a staple in high-end beauty products. Textile and leather processors also utilize it as a fiber lubricant and softening agent.

By reducing friction during processing, it significantly improves the hand feel of finished materials. In coatings and adhesive systems, it acts as a plasticizing and wetting agent for better performance.

These applications improve substrate adhesion and film flexibility in various industrial environments. Sealant and elastomer compounders incorporate it to modify surface tack and enhance processing characteristics.

The material is supplied as a pale yellow to amber viscous liquid for easy handling. It is available in cosmetic-grade and technical-grade specifications to meet the requirements of diverse manufacturers.

Industrial processors can rely on this material for consistent quality across different batches. Packaging is typically offered in drums and intermediate bulk containers for commercial quantities and logistics.
