Sodium isostearate

Sodium isostearate (CAS 64248-79-9), also known as sodium isooctadecanoate, is the sodium salt of isostearic acid, a branched-chain fatty acid derivative.

Where is Sodium isostearate used?

• Personal care: emulsifier, surfactant and skin-conditioning agent in bar soaps, stick deodorants and anhydrous formulations
• Cosmetics: emollient creams and colour cosmetics for spreadability and skin feel
