Sodium hypophosphite (CAS 7681-53-0), abbreviated SHP and also known as sodium phosphinate, is an inorganic phosphorus salt used industrially as a reducing agent and catalyst.

• Electroless nickel plating: primary reducing agent enabling uniform metal deposition on complex or non-conductive substrates without external current
• Electronics, automotive and aerospace component manufacturing: rely on electroless plating technology
• Polymer production: catalyst and stabilizer for polyamides, controlling molecular weight and preventing discoloration
