Piperazine
Description
Piperazine (CAS 110-85-0), also known commercially as Vermizine, is a cyclic diamine used as a reactive building block and process chemical across pharmaceutical manufacturing and polymer production.
Its bifunctional amine structure makes it a reliable intermediate for synthesizing active pharmaceutical ingredients and specialty materials. In pharmaceutical manufacturing, it serves as a key structural unit.
This chemical is used in the synthesis of numerous drug compounds, including antipsychotics, antihistamines, and antiparasitic agents. Polymer chemists use it as a curing agent and cross-linker in epoxy resin systems.
Controlled amine reactivity determines final mechanical performance in these systems. It also functions as a monomer in the production of polyamide membranes used in water treatment and industrial filtration.
In agrochemical synthesis, piperazine derivatives are incorporated into fungicide and pesticide formulations as core intermediates. This versatility makes it a staple in modern chemical manufacturing processes.
The product is supplied as white crystalline flakes or anhydrous powder, with piperazine hexahydrate available as an alternative hydrated form. Standard commercial grades include pharmaceutical-grade material.
The material meets USP and BP specifications, as well as technical-grade product for industrial polymer and chemical synthesis applications. Bulk quantities are typically offered in multi-kilogram bags.
These drums are suited to industrial procurement volumes and large-scale manufacturing needs. The material is handled according to strict safety protocols to ensure consistent quality and performance in all applications.
