Copper pyrithione

Copper pyrithione (CAS 14915-37-8), also known as Copper Omadine and abbreviated CuPT, is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial compound.

Where is Copper pyrithione used?

• Antifouling and protective coatings: biocidal active preventing microbial and algal fouling on marine and architectural surfaces
• Personal care: anti-dandruff shampoos and scalp treatments, an alternative to zinc pyrithione
• Textile, leather and paper: durable antimicrobial protection for finished goods and processing substrates
• Sealants, adhesives and elastomers for high-humidity or outdoor exposure are preserved against microbial degradation at low active concentrations.
