Thiamin Diphosphate
Description
Thiamin Diphosphate (CAS 154-87-0), also known as Cocarboxylase and abbreviated as TPP, is the biologically active coenzyme form of Vitamin B1. Unlike standard thiamine salts, it is supplied in its phosphorylated form.
This makes it the preferred starting material for enzyme-dependent biochemical applications where the coenzyme must be present in ready-to-use form. In pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturing, TPP is used as an active ingredient.
It is commonly found in injectable formulations and specialty supplements targeting metabolic support indications. Biotechnology and life sciences buyers source it as a cofactor in enzymatic assay systems and cell culture media.
It is also utilized in in vitro diagnostic reagents where direct coenzyme activity is required. Cosmetic formulators incorporate it into skin-conditioning preparations where the phosphorylated B1 form is preferred for bioavailability.
The material also functions as a reference standard and process reagent in enzyme kinetics research and fermentation process development. Thiamin Diphosphate is supplied as a crystalline powder, typically as the chloride salt form.
Standard grades include pharmaceutical-grade material meeting USP and Ph. Eur. specifications. We also provide research-grade material for laboratory and biotechnology use to meet diverse industrial needs.
Bulk quantities are available for industrial pharmaceutical production alongside smaller pack sizes for laboratory procurement. This ensures a reliable supply chain for both large-scale manufacturing and specialized research projects.
