Ammonium fluorosilicate

Ammonium fluorosilicate (CAS 16919-19-0), also sold as ammonium silicofluoride and ammonium hexafluorosilicate, is an inorganic fluorine salt used industrially for surface modification and hardening.

Where is Ammonium fluorosilicate used?

• Building and construction: concrete hardener and densifier that reacts with surface substrates to improve wear resistance and reduce porosity in industrial flooring and masonry treatments
• Textile and leather: fixing and surface-treatment agent improving fiber or hide resistance to degradation during finishing
• Mining and metallurgy: ore flotation and metal surface treatments where controlled fluoride release is critical
• Water treatment: fluoridation source
• Wood preservation: fungal and insect resistance
• Its dual fluoride and silicate activity makes it effective where both surface chemistry and corrosion resistance are required.
