Description

Oxalic acid dihydrate (CAS 6153-56-6) is the stable, crystalline hydrated form of oxalic acid, commonly supplied for industrial use where controlled dissolution and handling are preferred over the anhydrous form.

It functions as an organic acid, chelating agent, and reducing agent across a broad range of manufacturing and treatment processes. In textile and leather processing, it removes rust stains and iron deposits.

It effectively eliminates mineral scale from fabrics and hides without damaging fiber structure. Water treatment operations use it to control metal ion concentrations and adjust pH in various process streams.

In cleaning and maintenance formulations, it is the active acid component in rust removers, tile cleaners, and metal brightening products. It is highly valued for its ability to restore surfaces.

Pharmaceutical manufacturers use it as a reagent and pH modifier in synthesis and as a precipitating agent for isolating specific compounds. It is supplied as white crystalline powder or granules.

Granule size is available in various mesh specifications depending on application requirements. Standard commercial grades include technical grade for industrial cleaning and processing applications.

Higher-purity grades meeting USP or Ph. Eur. specifications are available for pharmaceutical applications. Bulk supply is typically offered in bags or supersacks for large scale operations.

Smaller packagings are also available for laboratory or specialty use. This ensures flexibility for diverse industrial requirements and precise chemical handling across different sectors.
