Fluroxypyr

Fluroxypyr (CAS 69377-81-7), also marketed under the trade name Advance, is a selective systemic herbicide belonging to the pyridyloxyacetic acid chemical class.

Where is Fluroxypyr used?

• Cereal crops and pastures: controls broadleaf weeds and woody plants
• Cereal production, particularly wheat, barley, and maize: formulated into post-emergence herbicides targeting persistent broadleaf weeds such as cleavers, thistles, and docks
• Pasture and rangeland: suppresses invasive woody shrubs and brush species without damaging established grasses
• Tank-mix herbicide programs alongside active ingredients like MCPA or 2,4-D broaden the weed control spectrum in a single application pass
• Forestry and rights-of-way maintenance: selective vegetation control
• It works by mimicking natural plant growth hormones, causing uncontrolled growth and eventual plant death.
