Amylodextrin
Description
Amylodextrin (CAS 9005-84-9), also known as Amylogen, is a high-molecular-weight starch fraction produced by the partial hydrolysis of native starch. It functions as a rheology modifier and humectant across food, paper, and textile manufacturing.
In these industries, controlled viscosity and moisture retention are critical processing parameters. In food manufacturing, it acts as a texture stabilizer and moisture-retaining agent in baked goods, confectionery coatings, and processed food formulations.
Pulp and paper producers apply it as a surface sizing agent and binder, improving sheet strength, printability, and surface smoothness. Textile operations use it in warp sizing to protect yarn during weaving and to achieve consistent fabric finish.
In leather processing, it contributes to surface coating formulations where controlled film formation and adhesion are required. This versatile material is typically supplied as a white to off-white powder for various industrial applications.
Food-grade specifications are available for applications requiring compliance with food additive standards, including FCC and USP requirements. Technical-grade material serves industrial paper and textile end uses where high purity is still essential.
Packaging is offered in multi-kilogram bags through to bulk quantities to suit both formulation-scale and production-scale procurement. Our supply chain ensures consistent quality for all Ph.Eur., BP, EP, and ACS grade needs.
