Diutan gum

CAS

Description

Diutan gum (CAS 125005-87-0) is a high-molecular-weight microbial polysaccharide produced by fermentation. It functions as a high-performance rheology modifier, providing exceptional suspension and stabilization in demanding fluid systems.

This versatile biopolymer is utilized across food, personal care, construction, and oilfield applications. In cement and concrete systems, it suspends aggregates and controls bleed water without retarding set time.

This is a critical performance requirement for self-leveling and shotcrete formulations. Oilfield drilling and completion fluids use the gum to maintain viscosity and particle suspension under high-temperature conditions.

It remains stable in high-salinity environments where many other biopolymers fail. In food applications, it stabilizes emulsions and controls texture in beverages, dressings, and dairy-style products at low use levels.

Personal care formulators incorporate it into rinse-off and leave-on products to build viscosity. It is also used to improve foam stability and the overall sensory profile of cosmetic and hygiene formulations.

The product is supplied as a dry, off-white to cream-colored powder. Food-grade material is available to FCC specification, while technical and construction grades are supplied to manufacturer standards.

Industrial grades are typically offered in 25 kg bags or bulk quantities. These packaging options are ideally suited to the high-volume requirements of construction and oilfield procurement operations.
