Description

Ditrimethylolpropane (CAS 23235-61-2), also referred to as di-TMP, is a tetrafunctional polyol derived from trimethylolpropane. Its four hydroxyl groups make it a reactive building block for producing high-crosslink-density polymers.

This chemical is essential for manufacturing esters and resins across coatings, lubricants, and adhesive systems. In synthetic lubricant manufacturing, di-TMP is esterified with fatty acids or complex acid blends.

This process produces high-performance polyol ester base fluids with strong thermal stability. Such stability is a key requirement for compressor and aviation lubricant formulations used in demanding industrial environments.

Radiation-curable and high-solids coating systems use it as a crosslinker and backbone polyol. Its functionality delivers harder films and improved chemical resistance compared to lower-functional alternatives.

Adhesive and sealant formulators incorporate di-TMP into polyurethane and polyester systems to increase crosslink density. This allows for better control over flexibility and structural integrity in the final product.

In UV-curable inks for packaging applications, it contributes to fast cure response and adhesion to demanding substrates. This makes it a preferred choice for high-speed printing and specialized industrial labeling.

Ditrimethylolpropane is supplied as a white crystalline solid or powder. Standard commercial grades include technical and industrial purity levels, typically at 98% minimum assay for consistent performance.

Packaging is available in bags or drums suited to bulk industrial procurement. Our logistics team ensures that all shipments meet the necessary safety and handling requirements for global distribution and storage.
