Terpene phenolic resin

Terpene phenolic resin (CAS 25359-84-6) is a thermoplastic tackifier resin produced by co-polymerizing terpene monomers with phenol. It delivers tack, adhesion, and compatibility across a broad range of rubber and polymer systems.

This material is a preferred choice for formulators balancing performance with processability. In pressure-sensitive adhesives and hot-melt formulations, it builds tack and peel strength in labels, tapes, and bonding films.

Rubber compounders use it as a tackifier and curing modifier in tire manufacturing. In this application, it improves green tack and contributes to crosslink density during the production process.

Printing ink and overprint varnish producers incorporate it to control rheology and improve adhesion to difficult substrates. It is highly effective for maintaining stability in complex chemical mixtures.

In construction sealants and contact adhesives, it enhances bond strength to porous and non-porous surfaces. This includes applications involving wood, concrete, and various types of industrial plastics.

Grades are differentiated primarily by softening point range and hydroxyl content to suit different processing requirements. Solvent-dissolved liquid versions are also available for direct incorporation.
