Tris-Biphenyl Triazine
Description
Tris-Biphenyl Triazine (CAS 31274-51-8) is an organic UV absorber and light stabilizer used to protect materials from photodegradation. In personal care, it is recognized under the name Tinosorb S Lite Aqua in certain formulated systems.
The pure active is sourced for direct incorporation into finished products. It functions by absorbing UV radiation across both UVA and UVB ranges, preventing premature breakdown of polymers, coatings, and cosmetic formulations.
In sunscreen and personal care formulations, it delivers broad-spectrum UV protection and is approved for use in cosmetic products in multiple regulatory markets. Coating and polymer manufacturers incorporate it to extend service life.
It is used for outdoor-exposed plastics, films, and industrial coatings subject to UV stress. Adhesive and sealant producers use it to prevent UV-induced yellowing and loss of bond integrity in construction and automotive applications.
It is also used in specialty polymer compounding where long-term color stability and mechanical retention under UV exposure are critical performance requirements. Tris-Biphenyl Triazine is supplied as a white to off-white powder.
Cosmetic-grade material is available meeting relevant EU and international regulatory standards for personal care use. Technical-grade supply is available for polymer and coating applications, typically with defined purity specifications.
