Cyclamic acid

Cyclamic acid (CAS 100-88-9), also known as E952, is the free acid form of cyclamate.

Where is Cyclamic acid used?

• Food and beverage: sweetener in low-calorie and sugar-free products such as soft drinks, tabletop sweeteners and confectionery
• Pharmaceutical: sweetener in oral dosage forms such as syrups, chewable tablets and lozenges
• It functions as a flavoring agent and acidulant, contributing to flavor balance and pH adjustment without caloric content
• In approved markets it is blended with saccharin or other high-intensity sweeteners to improve taste profile.
