Pyridoxal Hydrochloride

Pyridoxal Hydrochloride (CAS 65-22-5) is the hydrochloride salt form of pyridoxal, one of the naturally occurring vitamers within the Vitamin B6 family.

Where is Pyridoxal Hydrochloride used?

• Pharmaceutical and nutraceutical: active ingredient in finished-dose formulations and dietary supplement products where a direct aldehyde form of Vitamin B6 is specifically required
• Personal care and cosmetic: humectant and moisturising properties, preservation-supporting ingredient in aqueous formulations
• Cosmetic matrices include serums, leave-on treatments, and scalp-care products where B6 vitamers are specified by the formulation brief.

Good to know: Not currently listed in Annex II of Directive 2002/46/EC as an authorised source of Vitamin B6 for EU food supplements; regulatory due diligence is advised before incorporating it into supplement products targeting European markets. Vitamin B6 carries authorised EU health claims under Regulation (EC) No 432/2012, including contributions to normal protein and glycogen metabolism, red blood cell formation, normal functioning of the immune system, regulation of hormonal activity, and normal homocysteine metabolism.
