Description

Hexanal (CAS 66-25-1), also known as n-Caproaldehyde and carrying FEMA number 2557, is a short-chain aliphatic aldehyde used as a flavoring and fragrance ingredient.

It delivers a characteristic fresh, green, grassy note that underpins a broad range of consumer product formulations. In food and beverage flavoring, it contributes to the fresh, cut-grass character of fruit flavors.

This is particularly useful in apple, citrus, and tomato profiles where it is used at trace concentrations to enhance naturalness. Fragrance compounders incorporate it into fine fragrance and functional fragrance bases.

It adds green top-note lift, especially in floral and chypre compositions. In personal care, it appears in shampoos, body washes, and household cleaners where a fresh, natural-green olfactive character is required.

It also serves as a reference standard and process marker in food quality research. Hexanal concentration is monitored as an indicator of lipid oxidation in packaged foods to ensure product stability.

The material is supplied as a colorless to pale yellow liquid. It is available in flavor and fragrance grades, with purity typically at 98% or higher for demanding compounding applications.

Packaging ranges from small drums to bulk quantities to accommodate both laboratory-scale and commercial production needs. Our supply chain ensures consistent quality for all industrial requirements.
